confession body prayer

this prayer has 4 stages . the accompanying images are designed to be projected in the act of worship . click on these thumbnail images to go to a large image that can be printed onto ohp sheets or downloaded to be used in powerpoint and projected with a digital projector .

the way we used this prayer was to explain the 4 stages and then talk through the stages in the prayer, exploring further each of the stages . it would work equally well with an explanation beforehand and then using the images to prompt each stage .

stage 1

project all that you wish to be rid of into your clenched hands . imagine that you can hold in your hands the hate, anger, disapointment, fear and sin that is a barrier between you and God

stage 2

open out your hands and let God take it all away

stage 3

spread your fingers and cup your hands to receice God’s blessing

stage 4

hands together in the traditional prayer shape to say thank you and amen
